My birthday was better than I expected.  Started out rough.  No breakfast in bed… what the heck? heh.  Mom showed up and the day got progressively better.  Dinner with friends and family followed by a lovely little film where a big green guy got to smash stuff.  Any time there’s smashing going on – you can expect entertainment.

Around noon today I handed Mom Twilight.  It’s now 5:43pm and she’s still reading.  Muahahaha.

Today we got to see a friend get married.  That’s always a soft smile in a warm place.

Sometime in the next two weeks, Mom will be moving in.  I’ve got a ton to do to prepare for this.  She’ll be moving into what is currently my office, my office will go into the back room – mostly.  Some of it will have to go into the garage.  File cabinets.. they can go out there.  I hate filing.

I started New Moon yesterday late afternoon… and finished it yesterday. Well, I suppose 2:20am counts as today. I had planned on picking up the next one from the library.. but a quick web check showed there were seven people a head of me. Meh. My supplier (Mars) has her’s lent out elsewhere. Bother.

The good news is that I’m not tempted to squeeze a few dollars out of my budget to purchase it. I enjoy that that’s not a temptation for me. Perhaps a sign of maturity. Or perhaps a stronger desire for shoes.

While I am enjoying the romantic play between the two main characters, I can’t help but feel the same pang as with every other love story. Real life just doesn’t function that way, for most of us at least. I refuse to believe that it doesn’t exist out there. Most stories come from some truth, right? It sounds silly, but sometimes it helps to know that Christ loves the church that way and that that love story is still being executed. That one day, I will know that desire and it will be perfect.

In the meantime, I will stuff my nose into books and hang out with my girlfriends while we fill in the gap of goo for each other, and silently hope our men will one day catch on.

If you haven’t already jumped on the band wagon.  Do it.  Do it now.
