I am so proud of my husband this evening.  There was an accident down the street, a truck went into the corner house’s yard (luckily not into the house, although there may be some exterior damage).  He heard it, ran outside.  The driver was injured and walking away from the scene.  Mark walked with him, talking him down (he wasn’t in his right mind).  Eventually brought him back to the site by which time the Fire Department had shown up.  At one point the driver pulled a knife and started cutting himself… my husband didn’t falter.

The way he deals with “heavy” situations is one of the things I love about him.  When I told him how proud I was of him, he shrugged and said “it’s what you’re supposed to do”.  What he doesn’t get, is that most people still don’t do it – supposed to or not.

I am often confused.  There is a world around me bigger and more complex than I could possibly grasp.  There are people who are better educated than I.  I’m used to being confused.

This morning confused me.  As I was going through my news tab on my Google homepage… I saw this:

There’s a few things there that jumped out at me.  Until I started reading the articles…. then it was really apparent…

Home construction picks up in the US.  Even though home prices and sales are still down.  Gas continues to increase in price, causing another punch to our economy.   GE is no longer making appliances and they blame the current market causing a slow down in demand.  US consumer confidence falls, hitting the lowest since the early 1980s.  US video game sales were up 47% from last year.

Do I really need to layout my flags here?  Can anyone else connect the dots on this?  We’re stupid. Plain and simple.
